F in a pentagon

  • The “F in a pentagon” is a certification mark under German weapons law for airsoft guns with a muzzle energy exceeding 0.5 joules and a maximum of 7.5 joules.
  • Every airsoft gun over 0.5 joules located in Germany must be marked with this symbol (F in a pentagon).
  • Airsoft guns with a muzzle energy exceeding 0.5 joules may only operate in semi-automatic (SEMI) mode.
  • Airsoft guns may only be marked by the German Proof House!

Also: You may only participate in a German airsoft event with an airsoft weapon that complies with German law!

Categories

  • S-AEG: All known short and long guns that do not fall into the other categories
  • GBB: All known short and long firearms that do not fall into the other categories
  • SNIPER: This includes all airsoft guns approved in Germany that have a minimum overall length of over 1 meter and are clearly recognizable as sniper weapons (e.g., bolt-action weapons based on real-world models). Caution! Simply mounting a scope and a long silencer on an M4, etc., is not sufficient!
  • MG: All machine guns that are also used in real units (e.g., M249, M60, MK43, RPD, M240, etc.)
  • Secondary weapon/backup: Pistols as GBBs and NBBs, as well as S-AEGs with white markings
  • HPA systems: Adjustable compressed air systems with an external pressure vessel are permitted if the organization can secure the system against tampering, e.g., using a cable tie.
  • Full auto firing is ONLY permitted for machine guns < 0.5 joules. The use of full auto mode is prohibited for AEPs and AEGs with a white marking!

Transport of airsoft weapons to the event

In Germany, all airsoft guns must be transported in a locked container. This includes, for example, gun bags, cases, etc. The airsoft gun must not be readily accessible. This is achieved by using a lock on the bag/case.

The ammunition (airsoft BBs) must be transported separately from the airsoft gun, i.e., in a different container (bag, case, etc.). At our events, the use of biodegradable BBs is mandatory. These are either included in the ticket or distributed at the event. Bringing your own BBs is prohibited.

The battery and magazines do not need to be transported separately. However, we recommend doing so.

How can you participate in a German airsoft event?

Unfortunately, there's no practical way to use airsoft guns at a German airsoft event. Theoretically, you could contact a German gunsmith who would send your airsoft gun to the proof house and have it marked with the "F" in a pentagon. However, this option is very expensive.

The simplest solution is to buy an airsoft gun suitable for the German market in a German shop and bring it to Germany.

An alternative would be to use rental weapons. Should you require rental weapons for the event, please contact us via the contact form.

Outside of Europe

If you live outside the European Union and would like to participate in the event, please contact us via the contact form.
